Philly has given birth to a new queen. She’s the new face of R&B soul, and has proclaimed her
position in the Philly soul movement. Her name is Barbara Sharee. She’s become one of the
most influential stars out of Philadelphia. Displaying undeniable talent, Barbara Sharee
introduced herself to the world during the Clash of the Choirs contest on channel 10 NBC, as
she preformed along side soul diva, Patti Labelle.
& Live), fans can’t help but speak about the beautiful vocalist. In addition to her phenomenal
performance on NBC, Barbara Sheree has kept busy performing in Philly, New York and will
soon join the Soul Shock tour. She’ll also be co-hosting the the 2008 Alterative Soul Awards at
the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey on April 3.
“I want people to enjoy and feel my energy through the music” says Barbara Sheree. Stemming
from a rear breed of talent, what we see is a star with the skills to carry on the new soul
evolution.
Living in a city full of talent, has forced her to only
bring out the best as an artist, by leaving her mark
and carrying out the cities musical legacy through the
straight of her soulful voice. “Philly’s like music Mecca
to me, many people go to New York to get put on, but
Philly’s were the best artists are nurtured” says
Barbara Sharee.
Referring to her music as a “reflection of me,” the
beautiful songstress has combined the sounds of
jazz, rock and R&B. Classifying her style as soul with
a twist, to have a better understanding, her style is
limitless. Beneath the distress of the industry, the
support of close friends and family help’s her
maintain a stable mind.
“My family is my biggest inspiration; they’ve always
been behind me.” Along with sharing their influence
on her life through song, Barbara Sheree also uses
the ups and downs of relationships as a writing guide.
With her new single “Luv U Still,” Barbara Sheree
pours her heart out about her experience through the
drama behind the four letter word love.
